  1. So, you're saying that Tesla drivers are morons? lol
  2. I only see one red dot between Paducah and Nashville, that's near Eddyville KY. I think there are 8 charging stations at a motel there (I put on a spare tire there about 8 years ago, those chargers were so new it took me a while to figure out what they were.) Eight chargers to get to Nashville, compared to a few hundred gas pumps? News link claims NY State Police advised EV owners to beware. https://www.newsweek.com/tesla-charging-station-police-solar-eclipse-travel-1888941 My road has lots of interstate travelers. I've pondered using one of my properties as an Air B&B and putting in a charger for EVs.
  3. John, where near I24/Paducah can your TESLA be charged?
  4. While the car is capable of figuring all the things you mentioned, TESLA engineers probably didn't program the solar eclipse schedule into it and add a "figure out how bad traffic will be" equation. Like you mention, Which part of my story do you question/need "news" link for?? Here's one for traffic in Paducah... https://www.wsiltv.com/news/consumer/heavy-traffic-causes-delays-on-i-24-in-paducah-after-total-solar-eclipse/article_b83376bc-f5e6-11ee-b542-ab61bbc8e31b.html
  5. Where'd ya go? We stayed in the backyard for about 2 minutes of totality. Got to see the diamond ring...SUPER impressive! Saw "shadow snakes" too.
  6. John, I think the issue with charging around here was finding a charger that did not have 50 cars waiting to charge. There were SO many people in W KY that I24 eastbound was clogged for over 6 hours after totality. Friends of ours from Knoxville hit that road about 20 minutes after totality and it took them about 4 hours to get to Nashville (normally about 2 hrs.)
  7. No gearing....like a Top Fuel car, eh? lol
  8. T56? Turbo? Did my eyes see that right??
  9. I'm glad ya'll are well! (Excepting the part where the kids want a Camaro....)
  10. ....I remember seeing performers like the Charlie Daniel's Band and Confederate Railroad at the local rodeo. This year one of the performers is Ludacris. I have no idea what he's about....but I don't think he's got much to do with horses, pickup trucks, and blue jeans.
  11. My customer/sorta buddy (the old electrician who's swapped labor with me) is an anti-Trumper. I wrote Trump 2024 on his new transmission, and told him about it a few weeks afterward....as I wrote MAGA on his water pump. He didn't like it, but he can't see either place, so he probably thinks I didn't do it. I asked him about Trump, he said "I don't like him". Have you ever met him? "No." Then how do you know you don't like him? "I just don't like him." OK. (*rolleyes*)

  13. How to fix many of American's problems...
  14. Dumb, dumb, dumb, dumb...
  15. 1:43...stuff slated for disposal. Radial engines??
  16. ^ That last post was from an ignorant person. Said person has bypassed that suspect wire and the code and all driveability symptoms are gone. The test was inadequate to find whatever problem that wire had.
  17. Oh, another way of looking at things: Lots of bad ideas start in Europe and come here after about 10 years. Look at what those countries are doing to farmers, and what farmers are doing back. Manure pumped onto government buildings is.....mostly peaceful I guess.
  18. 3. Supply and demand? I agree/that's my point. Why are subsidized farmers outbid by a factor of 4? Government policies that prefer solar panels over farmland. Take that to it's "logical" conclusion. The power company MUST buy high priced solar energy while lessening cropped land. I hate to sound like I'm raining on the Tesla parade. I'm rather glad you can enjoy performance for less fuel cost. I'm frightened/saddened/angry that the general population is not catching on to the outcome of these energy/carbon regulations....if the same "logic" continues, the vast majority of Americans (possibly the world) will be living like it's 1820 while the "elites" still jet-set.
  19. ^ No wonder the dude is ripped, he's flexing just pushing a gas pedal. He'd be HULK if he could drive a stick shift. lol Relaxed muscles react much quicker than tense muscles, BTW.
  20. TVA claims a goal of "Net Zero" by 2050. Look at how they claim to get there. I stand by my conclusion that this is going to change the way our children live vs how we lived. I don't mean they'll be in electric cars vs ICE 60s GTOs, I mean energy will be so expensive they won't be able to take a "Sunday drive"....and perhaps they have travel distance limits per person per time period. And food will cost more/be scarce for the poor. The very wording of the TVA site indicates to me they've been neutered by the climate extremists. https://www.tva.com/environment/environmental-stewardship/sustainability/carbon-report List of former TVA coal power plants. Several closed due to "environmental impacts". https://www.tva.com/energy/our-power-system/coal/plants-of-the-past And TVA buys power to sell...they aren't making enough. Hmmmm....
  21. I'm taking actions and ideas to their logical conclusions. I didn't use "news media" for any of the info that lead me to conclude that climate extremists (always Democrat) have put policies in place that power companies are mandated to follow. Those policies are increasing the cost of electricity and increasing the cost of food. How much farmland around you has been turned into solar panels? Do you find it "odd" that a partially subsidized farmer is out-bid on land rent by a factor of 4 by a "solar company" claiming to have pre-sold the electricity it's projected to make? Have you signed a petition lately No media involved on my end. Your data shows TVA buying 15% of it's power from other people. Why is that?
