  1. The color would look great on a nice car like a Mustang or Challenger.
  2. How old are you John? 57?
  3. I believe the duly elected Sheriff of Hickman County, TN would have these goon out of state deputies sitting in the jail in Centerville if they tried that here. I would imagine that the local authorities would have jurisdiction or maybe in conjuunction with the US Marshall service, that is, if it were a criminal matter. Of course, this being a civil matter, I'd think no law enforcement should be involved.
  4. This story is amazing. Some rich baby cries to his Sheriff buddy who flies a crew of deputies out to Indiana to strongarm a legitimate fantasy car builder. If a Sheriff's Dept. from another state showed up at my house with warrants, I'd laugh in their face and call my local Sheriff.
  5. I like TFL, but they are WAY too long on average. My ADD kicks in and I've never completed one of their videos.
  6. Well, you probably have 5 to 10 more years to live Jamtoy.
  7. I guess I'm in the minority. I just don't care for the C8 Vettes. They look like a fake Ferrari to me. I'd much rather have a C5 or C6 Z06.
  8. I subscribe to that channel. Sean has a bunch of cool cars on the channel. I've often wondered how he gets away with rawhiding all those cars on the streets of LA. I am blown away that he uploaded this video. I always thought Sean was kinda cool, but this video has changed my mind. First of all, he seems kinda unconcerned about the minivan driver. Apparently, they know very little about how the minivan driver fared, so that tells me this may not be totally settled out. He may have served up a huge win for the minivan driver on a silver platter. The Comet's owner shouldn't ever own a high powered car. The guy seemed like an arrogant prick from the opening of the video. The guy made a comment about the throttle sticking. If he was stupid enough to keep driving, Sean should have made him pull the car over and figure it out. Later in the video, the guy commented about how he was riding the brakes due to the high idle after Sean mentioned that he smelled brakes. I bet the brake fluid was boiling. Why he didn't turn the engine off is anybody's guess. Sean is almost as negligent as the Comet's owner. I hope the minivan owner sues and wins a big settlement. Hopefully, it is such a large settlement, Mr. Comet owner will never be able to afford another car.
  9. Hickman County Model Aviators. It is right behind the Bon Aqua, TN post office on highway 46.
  10. If you can come over to our flying field, I will train you for free plus taxes and fees. Actually, most people in a local AMA club will gladly train you for free. It's a goodwill gesture that hopefully you will pass on to the next guy/gal who wants to learn. Seriously, if the guy charges money for this, you can skip him and I will do it for free. Let me know. I forgot to say. There is a guy in our club who has one of those Aeroscouts. He has crashed the total crap out of it more than once and it still flies.
  11. Man, all you guys are looking old.
  12. What's stopping you? I said the same thing for years. Finally, I mentioned it to my old friend and he said, "Why not?" So, we went. He ordered the Platinum package, which is a little pricey. I'm still disappointed we didn't get escargot and Grey Poupon in the air conditioned hospitality room.
  13. Tell algore to turn the AC down at his Belle Meade mansion.
  14. Man, if you've ever thought about doing the Hot Rod Power Tour, you just need to get off your butt and do it. It was hot and I wanted to be home at times, but overall, it was a fun time. My favorite part was talking to people from all around the country. I didn't meet one person who I didn't like. We mostly hung with a group of guys that stayed at our hotel each time. The old man and his step son were from San Antonio and his son and grandson were from Denver. They were a hoot to be around. The step son was one of the funniest guys I've ever met. He had me laughing all the time. I enjoyed being on the road with other cars and talking to one of my best friends. I also met Ralph Gilles who has been with Chrysler for 30 years. He's a big car guy who got to design cool cars. He had his Speedkore 1968 Charger they call Hellucination. What an amazing car! He was so cool. I asked a few questions about his car. I then told him that I didn't want to hold him up. At that point he asked me about my Challenger and asked me if I've always been a Mopar guy. He listened and even asked questions about my other rides. Most people in his position wouldn't want to talk to average guys. At this point, I'm really missing being on the road.
  15. Power Tour is car and truck overload. I've seen some awesome cars and trucks and met some really awesome people. The LaQuinta Inn in Hoover, AL is not so awesome. On to Pensecola tomorrow.
  16. We're leaving here around 3:00 tomorrow for Memphis. What car are you driving? Maybe I'll see you somewhere between Memphis and Atlanta. I'll see if he wants to run over to your house. I will need an address.
  17. I am leaving tomorrow afternoon with my friend Ronnie (known him since 1980-1st grade) for Memphis. We decided a few months back to do the Hot Rod Power Tour. We'll be taking the back up plan which is my Challenger. We were going to take his 1968 Cougar resto-mod, but the rear axle leak became a mismatched parts fiasco upon further inspection. The shop that put it together for him 8 years ago botched it. He thrashed (I helped when I could) on the car the last couple months installing a Holley efi kit. He got the car running better than it ever did. The car is about 98% good and the rear axle bit him. He's had the efi setup in a box for nearly 2 years and I bugged him to get it installed last year. I really don't know exactly what to expect. I always thought doing the Power Tour would be fun and have never heard anyone say it wasn't. It would probably be more fun in a Cougar, but it shouldn't be too bad in a car you can see at any new car dealership.
  18. We'll all be dead and gone before the hurdles with electric vehicles are figured out.
  19. I ain't trading the Challenger for one, but I feel like it is a good bargain when compared to the Supra. It looks tons better also. For my money, I'd take a C6 Z06.
  20. A guy at church, who I found out is an old friend of my uncle, has a 1965 Vette that he's owned since 1967. He also has a C7 Z06 and a couple old Corvette race cars that he's restoring. He only lives about 5 miles from me. I need to go check them out.
  21. I believe Nissan hit it out of the park on this one. I'd like my Z Performance 6 speed in blue with blue interior.
  22. I've looked into (don't confuse that with full-on research) swapping a 392 into my 1980 D150. People are doing that swap one of two ways. 1. Aftermarket ECU 2. Swapping in the whole shebang (wiring harness, fuel tank, ecu, cluster, etc.) from a wrecked car/truck.
  23. There is nothing wrong with a 3.8 Mopar. I imagine it would be a difficult swap. A swap into an S-10 is probably a road that has never been traveled and you'd be the pioneer. If I were worried about gas mileage, I'd get a Tercel.
  24. I've never been a Corvette guy, but in the last few months, I've kinda been wanting a C6 Z06. They built them starting in 2006 through the end of the generation in 2013. From what I read, they didn't change much except for minor stuff over the run. They all came with the 505 horsepower LS7 (427) and a Tremec TR-6060 6 speed. I believe you could turn all of the computer nannies completely off and it would become a scary beast. I understand some of them had cooling issues, but the big 427 is very reliable even when beating on it. Being that it is an LS V8, you can do all of the bolt ons and make 500 + horsepower at the rear wheels. In my opinion, the C6 is arguably amongst the best looking Corvette and the last true Corvette. I loved the C5 when they hit the streets, but the body work of the C6 ruined the C5 for me. I never loved the C7 and I'm in the minority who doesn't give a flip about the C8. I like C4 Vettes better than the last two generations. https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Chevrolet_Corvette_(C6)#Z06 Last year, when I could probably have profited $12,000-$15,000 on my Challenger, I thought maybe I could add $20,000 to the sale of my car and buy a 5th generation Viper. So, I started researching them and checking prices. After 2 minutes and to my utter disbelief, there is no longer such thing as a $75,000 5th generation Dodge Viper. They are now over $125,000. In the mean time, I happened on a Z06 video which reacquainted me with them and told me things I didn't realize about the cars. I'd still raher have the Viper, but you can make the Z06 outperform one for much less cash. They are probably more comfortable and streetable than the Viper. You could probably have picked up a Z06 for $25,000 just a couple years ago. Nice examples seem to start around $40k and go up to $90k as they get newer. I might even be able to sell the Challenger, buy a Z06, and deposit the difference into my savings account. I saw this Atomic Orange (rare color) in Dickson the other night. It looked like it was manufactured yesterday. I could not find the first flaw. I didn't even see one rock chip. I am in love with this car.
  25. I found my old Charger shirt a few months back. I wish I could find another one.
