Like those 16" guns can be aimed from the gun turret itself and at least two locations in the ship. How about the analog mechanical aiming computer that includes a gyroscope to compensate for pitch and roll of a moving ship? Imagine how important a little movement of the barrel is when firing at something up to 23 miles away!?!? ALL parameters were calculated, mechanically, in the 40s.
