Want random? My family helped a new friend with a hog killin'. My son is the outdoorsman, so he was the big help. As with all "do it yourself" work, it's easier said than done, and "next time" will be easier.
My 1st cuz moved to africa this year. He travels around drilling water wells. at one of these remote villages he decided to buy them a hog. Little did he know that tradition says he bought it so he had to kill it. They gave him a small dull pocket knife. HOURS later, he regretted his decision

After coming through a study about AEB from AAA today I thought of something. In their conclusions and recommendations, they didn't ever mention maybe trying to pay more attention. Instead they ask why auto mfg's aren't working harder to get cars to where they will detect any car in any situation and avoid the crash. Made me think, if we could somehow figure out a way to keep cell phones out of the cabin, and gadgets off the screen then with all the new safety features and attentive driver's we'd have 200x fewer accidents.
My next great invention: Create a "key" that will require your phone to plugged in the trunk. You'll arrive with a charged phone and your hands and eyes will be free to drive!
How am i going to watch my shows if my phone is in the trunk?

Chevy raised the bar.... More power, more range and faster charging....
GMC Sierra EV
754hp / 785tq
400 mile range
10min charge = 100 miles
9,500 tow
Whats the range when towing 9500lbs? I couldn't find that info

I believe the hummer charges in 5 days on a standard outlet.

It's not a stretch to think if the criminal is willing to shoot a Police Dog, he's also willing to shoot a Police Man.
But the person running may not be willing to shoot until a dog starts ripping his leg apart. I'm not in defense of the criminal just don't agree with the use of dogs for this.
Stand off situations are different stories as well as other things. Just referring to this type of situation.

agreed. I don't think dogs should be used in cases like these.

And that’s why you diversify your transportation.
I’ll daily the Tesla since I can charge it at home while I sleep for l$7 a recharge — which a full battery is just over 300 miles range.
If I want to go farther in less time, I can take one of the gas vehicles.
So i need at least 3 vehicles with one just sitting there as a just in case? Pass
Now i'm not saying having an extra vehicle is bad, but having one just incase my main fails to charge seems crazy to me.

Well, a $135,990.00 Tesla Model S Plaid [1,020hp] vs $3,600,000.00 Bugatti Chiron [1,500hp]
It's crazy, but look at the Tesla beating up on that Chiron!
IF money wasn't an issue, which would you buy?

They'll have to bump up charge times significantly before i'll even consider an electric car.
I prefer the peace of mind knowing i can go anywhere at anytime.
Kind of like having 4x4 in the south....

If you want facebook to fail then you need to remove yourself from there. Can't keep signing in and hoping it goes away at the same time.

99% of the wire in houses is copper. If you hire someone and they're using aluminum, fire them on the spot. Not only are they cheaping out, you'll eventually run into corrosion issues.
That said, if aluminum is the only option, make sure to go up a size or two.

Transformers "work both ways", don't they?
That they do. But in reality, at most you're probably running through the 50amp outlet from the generator. How far do you think it's gonna get before opening up?

Mine has to be dug out and it'll need the carb cleaned out.
This probably applies to most of the gens out there.
I finally wired up a subpanel after talking about it for 2 years. So mine just has to be plugged in and hooked up to my propane tank(quick connect).

We're forgetting one very important thing.. This is all for normal people. we know JohnC is FAR from normal.
He said SHTF. That happens, NG will stop flowing. He needs to be looking at all solar.. and portable... He NEEDS an RV

In reality, that was probably double or more what you actually needed. 100% way to know is take an amp meter and put it on each phase coming in to your panel. Turn on everything you'll want running and see what the amps are. size a little higher than that to account for compressor start ups and such.

This is my 2nd year to do this and it was a bust this year. We had some friends with us that got sick and slowed us way down...by hours.
It's a long boring video but i wanted to do it this way to show how it really looks without fancy camera or editing tricks.
