  1. And what road speeds/engine loads?
  2. No, 57 is how many days he's worked in the last month. Happy B-day!
  3. Wow, interesting. Local authorities with a warrant would have a hard time getting in my door....I'd be reading the fine print, ect. But somebody claiming to be from CA, I'd also laugh in their face. This spring a deputy walked up to me at work and asked if I was Ashley P. I said yes. He told me that a woman had lost her cell phone and the "locator" pinged it to my property, and "i'm just lettin' you know we're gonna be there looking for it". I don't think I held a good poker face. I think he read my expression of "The #%^ you say." I asked him to repeat the story. I then said "you can look in the road ditch all you want, but not on my property."
  4. But ya can't race dyno numbers.....find a track and you'll KNOW how accurate the numbers are.
  5. But when will the "MSM" "liberals" realize that?
  6. Friends and I were sitting about 20 feet to the left of this camera. My buddy was filming and shut his camera off after a while because he didn't want to record someone burning to death. It looked like Nitrous and fuel sprayed right through the Lexan. It looked TERRIBLE in person. About 1998.
  7. Oh, the other variable with failures is oil QUALITY. Not only is the oil clean, but is it free of air? When the oil pickup tube O-ring gets old and hard (close to 200k) the poor seal allows air to be sucked into the oil pump. That puts bubbles in the oil. I've wondered what that does to the lifters.
  8. Skip to 4:55. (I wish that Goat had a 455. And a 4 speed. That would be a few car lengths.)
  9. Amazon vs your privacy. You lose.
  10. When valves are disabled (and thus not opening), I verify that condition by running the engine (in Park) at a high rpm, when flooring the throttle while turning off the key. If a valve is not opening you will hear a very distinct reverb/pulse sound from the intake. And checking compression and looking at rockers are also good ways to make sure. (Not that I don't trust your swaps, but...what about wiring, or, or...")
  11. WTB: wrecked 2007-11 Wrangler with 3.8 and 6 speed manual. If your friends or neighbors roll one over, LMK.
  12. #4 seems to fail much more often than #s 1, 6, and 7 combined and in the past I've had some repeat failures. About 5 years ago I began replacing the AFM control manifold when I replaced any AFM lifters. Since then I've not had repeat failures. Didn't you reprogram to deactivate AFM??
  13. Let me drag my LUV diesel out of the woods. It got about 30 mpg burning waste ATF. It was ugly and did't have many "creature comforts", well, in fact it had NEGATIVE comfort. Exactly the opposite of these bloated turds.
  14. Possibly funny. I hope it wasn't a "good" trailer, 'cause that "push out of the way" looks brutal. https://www.westkentuckystar.com/News/Local-Regional/Info-sought-about-who-left-mobile-home-on-Trigg-ro
  15. Do I see a quivering hand at 5:22 on? I vote ZERO confidence in that driver.
  16. I can hear the CVR now: "Mayday mayday may..." in the foreground, but ominous "whoop whoop Pull Up.....whoop whoop Pull Up." in the background. RIP. Let me know when the NTSB report comes out.
  17. Still stupid. My electricians points ignition camaro ran well with new fuel hose and filter, until it lost spark. I'm trying to get him to let me convert to HEI. Looks like the cowl will need about 1/2" of "adjustment" for cap clearance.
  18. ^ President of the Optimist Club? lol
  19. What's the logic? "When you can't tell the charging system is disabled we'll make sure it's disabled." PERFECT for "Build back better".
  20. There is a 1985ish AGCO RT135 here at work. I noticed it's got a 6.7 Cummins with a mechanical injection pump driven from the flywheel, not timing cover. Here's tractordata info for the AGCO RT135. Interesting (to me) the drawbar pull measures 108 hp and uses 9.2 gallons of diesel per hr, while the Allis Chalmers 7030 from 1973 measures 110 hp and uses 8.5 g/hr. Why is the newer tractor less efficient? Lot's of variables, but what got me attention is the AGCO is AWD and uses a CVT. CVT works by using a hydraulic motor to control the RPM of a ring gear on a planetary gearset. I wonder how efficient that is compared to the 1973 5 speed manual gearbox....hmm.
  21. Ashley P tells all: Did you know that a 1995 Mustang has a battery idiot bulb that, when it burns out, disables the alternator? Think about that until you get mad at the engineers.
  22. Does the Tesla have a performance mode selection knob with 3 choices: economy, performance, embarrassment?
  23. How many minutes of this will you "watch"?
  24. A like for the manual swap and diesel. The rest....I'll hold my tongue. lol
